Wale New Album 2018
May 16, 2018 - The critically acclaimed, history-making rapper will unleash his sixth full-length album in 2018. 'I am delighted that Wale has joined Warner.
If you've noticed recently, Wale has been suspiciously quiet on social media and completely wiped out his Instagram account. It's typically a tactic that artists use when they're secretly working on a new project. And the rapper delivered tonight, releasing a surprise EP titled It's Complicated.
The four-track EP's only feature is Jacquees. Wale previously teased that he was gearing up for a release tonight on his Instagram story, where he was joined by none other than Pharrell. 'DMV! He's trying to do that cool artsy shit, but that's Pharrell y'all,' Wale said in reference to the music mastermind, who was playfully covering his face (as if no one would recognize those razor-sharp cheekbones). 'This me. I'm dropping something tonight ah!'

— DMV Moonz 🌙 (@DMVMoonz) March 13, 2018This new EP follows Wale's fifth studio album Shine, which was released in April 2017. Since then, the D.C. rapper has shared a few one-off tracks, including his remix to SZA's 'The Weekend,' the anti-Valentine's Day tune 'All Star Break Up,' and the boastful anthem 'Staying Power.'
Wale also has another anticipated collaboration up his sleeve. In January, the rapper teased that he's back in the studio with J. Cole. He posted an Instagram story of a recording session along with the caption, 'Working on new vibes.' Listen to It's Complicated below.

Wale returns with more new music for his loyal fan base as he dropped off a brand new EP titled Self Promotion late last night (May 7). The new project features just four new songs from the DMV rapper, but the lyrical content serves as more than enough to tide over fans.
While he opts out of recruiting any artist guest features on the EP, Wale does recruit DJ Money to assist him on the final record, 'Cassius (Excellency).' The SHINE entertainer uses a lot of wordplay on the project and in the tracklist itself, as he has a song titled 'Salary Kaep,' which plays on the football term 'salary cap,' but dives into the injustices that Colin Kaepernick protested by kneeling for the National Anthem.

Fans have been expressing their excitement and enthusiasm for the new material, but Wale revealed this morning (May 8) that Self Promotion would be his last indie music project. He told fans that he has goals he wants to accomplish outside of music, and is ready to start a new chapter.
'This will be my last indie project . it’s been fun (and lucrative) but I have goals to accomplish outside music. New chapter,' he writes.
